Hi there! My name is ManLi Q and I love cooking and photography, thus explaining this blog. I’d like to take you with me on this great journey in joyful cooking, healthy eating, food adventures, comfy food, guilty pleasures, etc… Most of my dishes are very easy to prepare because there are only so many hours in a day, so I don’t want to spend too much time in my kitchen.
A little bit of background on me:
Born in the south of China, I spent only 3 years of my life there, though I still have some vivid memories of my first years with my grandparents (pretty awesome, isn’t it?). I then moved to Mauritius, a tiny tropical island located in the southern part of the Indian Ocean and grew up in that beautiful multicultural country. In Fall 2007, I moved to Montreal to pursue my dreams and explore the big world out there.
I spent a lot of years since my adolescence searching for who I am but I’ve gradually realized that it’s up to ourselves to decide who we want to be in life. I used to look for happiness but I’ve understood that instead of searching for it, we can simply choose to be happy, and right now, not tomorrow. In life, I tend to look at the bright side of things while keeping a realistic outlook, enjoy the present, follow my heart and live a meaningful life.
Other than cooking and photography, my other passions and interests include sustainability, new age spirituality, philosophy, contemplating nature and performing arts (singing, dancing and theatre).
Thanks a lot for visiting! If you have any feedback, comment or question, please feel free to drop me a few words.
